Ruhaama County MP asks Constituents to embrace agriculture

NTUNGAMO- The Ruhaama main county Member of Parliament Hon Nkwatsibwe Henry Znkuratiire has delivered 100 piglets to widows, youths and people with disabilities as a way to improve their household income.

While flagging off the distribution of these piglets to the beneficiaries at district headquarters on Friday, Hon Zinkuratiire challenged the general public to embrace agriculture, especially piglets for those who can rear them for wealth creation.

He warned all beneficiaries against selling the donation since they are aimed at improving their household incomes.

Hon Zinkuratiire also asked the beneficiaries to feed the piglets well since they are of good breed and they are able to multiply quickly.

The Ntungamo district Chairperson Governor Muchunguzi Samuel Rwakigoba Ssalongo hailed leaders who lobby for their voters appealing to others to borrow a leaf.

The district veterinary officer Dr Yakke Basulira Musoke assured the beneficiaries that the piglets are of good quality and asked them to take care of them for better yields.

Beneficiaries especially widows and PWDs commended the legislator for this donation saying that they can now get income at household level.

Piglets were lobbied from the ministry of Agriculture, Animal, Industry and Fisheries through NAADS.
