Kigezi High School old Medical Students organise medical camp at their former School

NEWS- The medical old students of Kigezi high school-Kabale from Mbarara University  on Saturday held a one-day health camp at their former school as a way of celebrating 100 years of its existence.

The headteacher of the school Akapurira Abraham told our reporter that there are many activities which happened spearheaded by old students to inspire the continuing students. 

They include career guidance, aerobics football and netball matches between continuing students and staff.

Akampurira added that this visit will encourage learners to work hand in hand to fall in the footsteps of their old students.

He thanked the old students for sparing their time for the health of continuing students and the words of encouragement in the Education cycle thus requesting the students to put whatever they have been told into consideration if they want to have a bright future.

The chairperson of Kigezi High school old students association Dr. Mugyenyi Godfrey a senior lecturer at Mbarara University of Science and Technology  stressed that they decided to give back to their school because it nartured them into what they are today.

He added that the health camp was meant to treat and screen all teachers and students for non-communicable diseases, checking blood pressure, height and weight as well as giving treatment to those in need.

Tashobya Phones, a continuing student, thanked the old students for organizing such a health camp, saying that she was tested and was happy that she now knows her health status.

Tashobya added that much has been taught to them on how to avoid and overcome some diseases which may affect their health and ruin their education.
