GISO Remanded over brother’s murder

NEWS- The Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting at Rukooki has further remanded Mr. Geoffrey Bwambale Kikama to Mubuku Government Prison on allegations of killing his young brother, Augustine Masereka Kikama.

Court presided over by His Worship; James Opio heard that the suspect while at Kasika village in Rukooki sub-county on February 21, 2020 killed his young brother over issues related to land.

Aged 49, the suspect is also the Rukooki sub-county Gombolola Internal Security Officer- GISO.

After allegedly killing his brother, Kikama was briefly arrested and released under unclear circumstances but he was re-arrested on May 06, 2022 on orders of the Resident State Attorney who had sanctioned the file.

He was subsequently arraigned in court and remanded to Mubuku Government Prison. Kikama reappeared in court for the hearing of his case but the Magistrate further remanded him to Mubuku Government Prison until October 26, 2022 when he will return to court.

The same court also ordered Mr. Patrick Masereka 48, who was found in possession of a fore leg of a buffalo in Kilembe sub-county in August this year to either pay Ugx 800,000 or serve a sentence of 14 months in prison.
