Ray of hope as Kasese Young mothers are equipped with survival skills

NEWS- Young mothers in Kasese district have been challenged to embrace the idea of acquiring vocational skills so that they are empowered to look after themselves despite giving birth at a tender age.

The challenge was sounded today by the Community Development Officer for Bulembia Division, Abdul Magezi while addressing the young mothers, youths and women who are currently undergoing vocational skills training with sponsorship from Big Heart Foundation Uganda at Bulembia Division Headquarters.

The Bulembia Division centre is among the four skills training centres that Big Heart Foundation Uganda has established in Kasese Municipality to train the youths, school dropouts, women and young mothers with skills to empower them to become self-reliant.

Magezi explained that despite producing at such a young age, there is still hope for them to be successful in future as long as they have attained vocational skills.

The Community Development Officer also asked them to use the acquired skills to accumulate wealth through saving the little that they would be earning.

Pr. Leonard Kasereka, an Officer from the Office of the Kasese Municipality Member of Parliament, Ferigo Kambale, the founder of Big Heart Foundation Uganda, told the learners that the organization that sponsors their training is non-partisan.

Some of the trainees hailed the Municipality MP for initiating an organization that minds much about their bright future.
