NEWS- Two people have been put in isolation in Bunagana Town Council for allegedly attending the burial Ceremony of the deceased Ebola victim in Mubende.

The culprits had attended the burial ceremony for their relative who died of Ebola in Mubende district. RDC Kisoro district Hajji Shafiq Ssengoba Ssekandi confirmed this adding that the area is at a high of being hit by Ebola because of uncontrolled movements to and from Congo, Mubende, Tooro, Kagadi and Kampala.

Ssekandi says that security agencies are doing all they can to stop the outbreak of the pandemic in the district thus calling upon people of Kisoro to protect themselves as well.

According to Dr. Steven Nsabiyumva, the Kisoro district officer, a report from the Ministry of Health indicates that more than six people have so far died in previous days, something that proves how deadly the scourge is.

Dr Nick Muneza, the Kisoro district surveillance officer confirms that the suspects have been put into isolation to monitor their situation so that they don’t spread the virus in case they are sick.

He has requested the public to remain vigilant and calm as Health Officials are doing everything possible to secure their lives.
