KABALE! Police stuck with unidentified body

NEWS– The Police in Kabale have registered a case of drowning of an unidentified male adult.

Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate told journalists today September 27th 2022 morning, that there was a floating dead body at river Rwabakazi, at Nyakijumba Cell in Rushaki Ward of Southern division in Kabale Municipality.

Maate explained that when the scene was visited by a team led by Kabale District OC CID, the Scene of Crime Officer and Fire and Rescue Police officers, they could not identify the body which had started decomposing.

The dead body was however retrieved and conveyed to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital Mortuary for postmortem.

Maate has said that efforts to have the body identified are underway, and appealed to the general public whose male relative is missing visit the Mortuary so that they can help in the identification of the deceased and take him for descent burial.

The case of death by drowning was registered at Kabale Central Police Station under reference number CRB 692/2022 to help in further investigations and inquiries.
