Two Rukiga district residents held over attempted murder

Rukungiri school administrator arrested for reopening school for non-candidates

NEWS– The Police in Rukiga district have arrested two suspects and are actively hunting for others who are on the run for allegedly attempting murder a 24-year-old-man.

ASP Elly Maate the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson identified the victim as Gideon Willy Ainebyoona a resident of Katele Shoko, Rwamucucu sub county in Rukiga district.

It’s alleged that on Tuesday at about 8:00PM when Ainebyoona was coming from Sindi trading centre in Mparo, he met a group of Youths who attacked and cut off his left arm completely on top of critically injuring the right one to almost getting cut across.

Maate noted that after the incident, the suspects immediately disappeared from the scene whereby the victim was found lying in a pool of blood by Kayuku Josephat aka Fat and Magezi Jackson who informed his parents on phone.

The duo looked for a vehicle to take Ainebyoona to Mparo Health Center IV where he was referred to Kabale Regional Referral hospital for further management.

Maate added that the victim is currently admitted to Kabale regional referral hospital in critical condition adding that investigations have commenced as well as tracing for the suspects.
