Allocation of stalls in Ugx 5Bn Mpondwe Lhubiriha market starts, traders excited


NEWS– Authorities of Mpondwe Lhubiriha Town Council in Kasese district with guidance from the Ministry of trade, Industry and cooperative have started distribution of stalls of the newly constructed market.

Speaking to our reporter shortly after the exercise Sam Okech the Social Development Specialist from the ministry of trade, industry and Cooperatives said that the construction of the market at the border was at a tune of  Ugx 5billion and that distribution of stalls will take four days.

Oketch appreciated the government of Uganda for the construction of a market in strategic location at the border which will welcome people from DR Congo and other parts within and outside Uganda.

He noted that they will sign an MoU with traders seeking them to pay some money as tax to use in maintaining the market.

Juma Ntambwe and Janet Kahindo Ngondi, some of the traders who received stalls showed their excitement and thanked the government of 

Uganda for the well-organized market.
