NEWS– The Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Hon Judith Nabakooba, has said that the new technology and equipment Uganda has acquired will end land theft in Uganda.
Minister Nabakooba revealed this on Tuesday while closing the 12th Conference of Ministers of the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD) at Speke Resort Munyonyo, Kampala.
The conference that attracted close to 20 Land Ministers across Africa lasted for two days and in her closing remarks, Minister Nabakooba said that Uganda has been facing a problem of land theft.
“Land demarcation using poor technology has been a challenge in Uganda. The buyers and sells would conflict on demarcations because of using old technology,” she said.
Minister Nabakooba added that the new mapping technology using modern equipment will end this problem.
Hon Nabakooba, who is the Chairperson of Council of Ministers, said the new technology will offer quality services in all member states.
