Police repels armed attackers at Nakulabye Police Post in Kampala


NEWS– The Police in Kampala have instituted investigations to hunt for armed men who stormed Nakulabye Police Station today morning but were repelled and in the process the thugs dropped a magazine with 30 bullets.

According to Old Kampala Divisional Police Commander Nuwagaba Ivan there was an attempted attack on the Police Post by un known thugs armed with a rifle.

Nuwagaba said that the incident took place in early morning hours at around 4:00 am but a Police Officer Teki Robert who was on duty as the station had taken cover in a parked vehicle and when he saw unidentified armed person advancing to the station from the western direction he opened fire at him which forced him flee to unknown direction. 

The Police have since recorded statements from relevant witnesses and documented the scene and introduced canine dogs which lost tracking a few meters away.

Nuwagaba said that the magazine has been taken as an exhibit and will help to establish the gun that the thugs held and efforts underway to view and analyze the CCTV cameras.
