President Museveni arrives in Vietnam for a 3 Day State Visit


NEWS– President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has arrived in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for a three-day state visit at the invitation of his counterpart President Nguyễn Xuân Phúc.

On arrival at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, President Museveni was received by the Chairman Office of the President Le Khanh Hai, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Vietnam

Ambassador Nguyen Minh Hang among others.

Others to receive the President were the Minister of Foreign Affairs Gen Abubaker Jeje Odongo, the Minister of Finance Hon Matia Kasaija, Minister for ICT and National Guidance Dr Chris Baryomunsi, the State Minister for Trade Hon Ntabazi Harriet and the Minister for Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, Hon Frank Tumwebaze.

Others at the Airport included Uganda’s Permanent Representative to the UN Adoniya Ayebare, the Honorary Consul of Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Uganda, King Caesar Mulenga, and the Ugandan Ambassador designate to Vietnam Hon Betty Bigombe.

While in Vietnam, Gen Museveni is expected to hold bilateral talks with the host President at the Presidential Palace, witness the signing of Agreements and

different Memorandums of Understanding between the two governments.

The Ugandan President will officiate at the opening of the much anticipated Viet Nam-Uganda Business Summit and Trade Exhibition at Viet Nam National Convention Center Hanoi on the theme: Unlocking Investment Opportunities and later meet the Ugandan community in Vietnam the first-ever trade Expo event between the two countries.
