KAMPALA– The Electoral Commission Uganda has responded to the U.S. Embassy Kampala over accreditation.
According to the commission, the U.S mission is one of more than 1,500 national and international observers that have been accredited to observe Uganda’s 2021 general elections.
Earlier today the U.S. embassy in Uganda announced that they will not be involved in the observation of Ugandan elections
:”Sadly, I announce US decision not to observe Uganda’s elections due to EC’ decision to deny more than 75% of our accreditation requests” U..S. Ambassador to Uganda, Natalie Brown revealed.
In a statement issued by the EC chairman Simon Mugyenyi Byabakama, the Commission has also provided Toll free numbers for query/ complaints desk based at EC headquarters:

The complaints desk will open at 7:00am on 14th January 2021 and close at 4:00pm.
“The desk will handle complaints relating to polling day” he added.
