KAMPALA- The Minister for Health, Jane Ruth Aceng will today Wednesday September 30th 2020 provide an update on the measures that the Ministry of Health is undertaking to mitigate the widespread community transmission of COVID-19 in Uganda.

Information from the Ministry’s PRO Mr. Emmanuel Ainebyoona, Minister Aceng will address the country at 3PM live via the Country’s National Broadcaster UBC and other media platforms.

“The Minister of Health, @JaneRuth_Aceng Aceng Ocero is expected to address the country on the COVID-19 Response tomorrow via @ubctvuganda and all other media houses,” Ainebyoona posted on his official social media pages.

Uganda’s Health Ministry on Tuesday September 29th 2020 released results from COVID-19 tests done on 28 September 2020. The ministry confirmed 240 new cases which hiked the country’s cumulative confirmed cases to 8,017.

According to the Ministerial statement, 220 cases are alerts and contacts 53 of whom are from Kampala, 25 from Moroto, 22 from Amuru, Nabilatuk 11, Abim 28, Gomba 9, Nakapiripirit 7, Kapchorwa 6, Lamwo 5 and Mbale 5.

Other cases include 4 from Budaka, 4 from Napak, 4 from Wakiso, Gulu 3, Ngora 3, Kaberamaido 2, Rakai 2, Agago 1, Bulambuli 1, Butebo 1, Iganga 1, Kalaki 1, Kibuku 1, Sironko 1, Soroti 1, Tororo 1.

The other cases are 38 returnees all from Saudi Arabia.

The Country has todate recorded 8,017 cases, 4033 recoveries and 75 fatalities.
