Electoral Commission confirms Nomination dates for Local councils, MPs & President

KAMPALA- The Electoral Commission has reminded the general public and more especially the aspiring candidates that the nomination dates will remain unchanged and therefore they should observe them.

According to a reminder statement issued by the Electoral Commission Spokesperson Paul Bukenya, the Lower Local Governments Council nominations will be conducted from September 21st to October 1st 2020.

Bukenya said that this will be followed by Parliamentary nominations to be conducted on 12th and 13th October 2020.

He said that the nomination for Presidential candidates will be conducted on 2nd and 3rd November 2020.

The Electoral Commission therefore advised the aspiring to pick the nomination forms from their District offices or down load a hard copy from their website.

Bukenya also said that the Aspiriants will get all the needed information, guidelines and other details concerning nomination and conduct during the campaigns.

He therefore asked the Aspiriants to register with the Electoral Commission and book specific days and time when they would want to be nominated which will only be between 9 am to 4 pm on mentioned dates.
