End of the road! Kabale Central Police OC, Augustine Nakitari retires after 42 years of dedicated service

KABALE- The Officer in Charge of Kabale Central Police Station, Augustine Nakitari has retired from the police force and handed over to Assistant Superintendent of Police. Muhamad Kiwalyanga.

Kiwalyanga has been the Officer in charge of Operations at Kabale Central Police Station in acting capacity.

Nakitari retired at the age of 60 years and has served the police force for the last 42 years. He has also been the My Life My Health Fitness Camp – Kabale assistant Camp Commandant. In 2015, he served as the acting police commander for Kabale district for six months.

When Rubanda became operational in July 2016, he served as the acting District Police Commander for an interim one month period.

Speaking at his farewell held at Kabale Central Police Station in Kabale Municipality Tuesday afternoon, the Kabale District Police Commander, Brian Ampeire and the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, Elly Maate said that Nakitari has been a mentor and hardworking Police Officer who worked diligently.

Niwagaba who represented My Life My Health Fitness Camp and the community said that Nakitari has been an experienced police officer who was exemplary to other officers and to the public while executing his duties.

In his remarks, Nakitari applauded the police officers at Kabale Central Police Station as a committed and competent team that worked together as a family. He asked junior police officers to ensure that they conduct their work professionally if they want to retire successfully.

Kabale Central Police Station and the community handed over 1,200,000 million shillings while My Life My Health Fitness Camp – Kabale gave him 500,000 shillings to help him transport his properties to his ancestral home in Kapchorwa.
