KISORO- The Police in Kisoro district are hunting for a suspected murderer who killed four people and all his immediate relatives.
The suspect is Ndikumukiza Gerald a resident of Kagyeyo village, Busengo Parish, Nyarubuye Sub County Kisoro District.
The regrettable incident according to residents happened on Thursday September 25th 2020 where Ndimukiza got a panga and attacked the four people all his relatives who reside in the same place and hacked them to death.
The deceased relatives have been identified by Police as Sebitama Deogratious 80 the father to the suspect, Nyiraguhirwa Bonconsira 75 his mother, Mujawimana Maliserina 26 his wife and Nyiramahoro Joan 20 a wife to his brother Ndikumukiza Gerald.
According to Elly Maate the Kigezi Region Police Spokesman, the case was reported to Police by Nsengimana Clever 58 a resident of Kageyo village Busengo Parish Nyarubuye Sub County in Kisoro district.
“It is alleged that Yesterday the 24/09/ 2020 at around 2100hrs, the suspect Ndikumukiza Gerald who is a resident of the same place got a Panga and attacked the four people all his relatives who reside in the same place and cut all of them to death” Maate said.
Maate added that “During this attack he first killed the wife Mujawimana Mariserina, there after killed the one Nyiramahoro Joan the wife of the brother Habyaremye George, then proceed to kill the father Sebutama Deogratious and ended with the mother Nyiraguhirwa Bonconsira”.
Information obtained by the Police indicates that the suspect had returned from Masaka the previous day where he had been working as a casual laborer with his brother Habyaremye George.
The Police spokesman adds that the motive of the killing is yet to be known although he has a history of mental illness.
Police visited the scene, statements recorded from witnesses and four bodies were still at the crime scene pending postmortem as Police investigations continue under reference number CRB 558/2020.
IP Maate adds that the Suspect is still on the run and Police is doing all they can to have him arrested and charged accordingly.
