Brig General Jackson Tushabe Bells

KAMPALA- Brig General  Jackson Tushabe Bells has passed on this morning at Nakasero Hospital.

Burial Arrangements to follow,  May His Soul Rest In Eternal Peace.

Brigadier Jackson Bell Tushabe is former National Resistance (NRA) fighter under President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who fought alongside others in 1981be- 1985 bush war.

He was the President and owner of Victors FC once a powerful football club playing in Uganda Premier Legue.

He also served as Vice President FUFA (Competitions Committee) and when you mention the name Col. Bell (as he was known then) within the rank and file of the UPDF many will remember, let alone recognise this former bush war bravery as a fighter.

He has not been active in Forces since early 1990s and when his hope waned, Brig Bell retreated to his home in Ggaba and joined fishing.

He is more known among fishermen at Ggaba landing site, where he had a residence than among the UPDF.

He had become so popular with the fishermen that he mobilised them into a football club, Victor FC and later Nalubale Football Club.

During the bush war , Bells Tushabe  belonged to the dare devil category of commanders like the late Jet Mwebaze, Stanley Muhangi, Col. Patrick Lumumba and Brig. Matayo Kyaligonza.
