Kabale Man hacks 2 to death, flee the village

KABALE- The Police in Kabale are hunting a 40 year old man who is suspected to have hacked two people killing them instantly.

Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed the incident and identified the suspect as Mugisha John Nyamugoma village in Kaharo Sub County in Kabale District.

It’s reported that Mugisha picked up panga and hacked his step brother identified as Twebaze Stevenson and his step mother identified as Birungi Jacinta all who died instantly.

He also cut and seriously injured his step sister identified as Tukamushaba Annah and her friend called Turyasingura Willy all residents of the same village.

“It’s alleged that the suspect attacked and killed and injured the victims on allegations that they accused him of maliciously damaged and burnt Nyamugoma Catholic Church fence” Maate said.

Maate said that the suspect fled the village and went into hiding from where he is still threatening to kill more people after which he will commit suicide.


Maate however said that the Police have deployed heavily and are now hunting for him and when arrested he will be charged accordingly.

A case of murder was however registered at Kabale Police Station under reference number CRB 748/2020 to help in investigations.

Elsewhere in Rubanda District, the Police are hunting for the LC 1 Chairman of Hamurara village in Nyamiyaga Parish in Bubare Sub County identified as Bonane Deus who used a panga and severely cut Tumusiime Moses a resident of the same village.

Maate said that no one knows the circumstances under which the LC Chairman cut the resident.

According to Police, the suspect fled the village and is hiding in unknown place and a case of causing grievous harm has been reported at Bubare Police Station under reference number SD 03/10/08/2020 to help in investigations.
