Kigezi region registers 5 new coronavirus cases as Uganda confirms 423 cases

KIGEZI- Kigezi region has registered 5 new coronavirus cases part of the 423 new cases registered from 2,014 samples tested on Friday September 18th 2020.

The five new cases registered in Kigezi region include 5 from Kisoro District and 1 from Kanungu all who were alerts and contacts.

The country also registered 2 new Coronavirus deaths from Kampala and Mpigi hiking the country’s death toll to 63.

The new cases bring to total 6017 the cumulative total confirmed cases of Ugandans.

Of the 423 cases are contacts and alerts 85 of whom are from Kampala, 59 from Butaleja, Mukono 27, Lira 14, Mbale 10, Wakiso 9, Luwero 6, Buikwe 5.

The other cases from contacts and alerts incled 3 from Gulu, 5 from Bududa, Jinja 4, Kumi 3, Kapchorwa 4, Mpigi 1, Soroti 3, Mityana 1 and Sironko 1.

Returnees contributed 12 to the new cases and these were 8 from Saudi Arabia, 3 from India and 1 from Jordan.

The country has todate registered 2,014 total recoveries, 63 coronavirus fatalities.
