Police speaks out on FDC’s POA re-arrest hours after being granted bail

Motorists on tenterhooks as Police impounds 102 vehicles, 98 motorcycles in curfew operation

KAMPALA– Following the re-arrest of FDC’s POA, Asp Luke Owoyesigyire the deputy Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson has stated that police at Katwe are holding Presidential candidate Patrick Oboi Amuriat for Doing a negligent act likely to cause an infection of a disease.

Having spent last night in Mpigi CPS cells, POA was taken to Mpigi Grade 1 Magistrate, charged with a traffic offence and granted bail.

On his way home, he was intercepted by several police patrol vehicles at Mengo in Kampala, forced out of his vehicle and taken away in one of the Police patrol trucks.

Owoyesigyire added that POA was arrested for deliberately blocking traffic at the busy Natete-Ndeeba road, while deliberately obstructing other road users and motorists.

Arrested also, is one of his escorts Police Constable Erikitoi Emmanuel, for obstruction and insubordination.
