KAMPALA- President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will on Monday June 1st 2020 address the nation on the fate of the current lockdown state in the country.
In a tweet by the Minister of Information and National Guidance Ms Judith Nabakooba, President Museveni will address the Country on Matters relating to Coronavirus and the way forward.
The President according to Minister Nabakooba’s tweet will be live casted on all radios and Televisions across the Country at 0800hrs.
The President’s address comes at a time when Uganda has 329 Confirmed Coronavirus cases, 72 recoveries and no deaths registered from Coronavirus related infections.
It also comes days after the President allowed private car owners to start using their vehicles in Districts that are not bordering Uganda’s neighbors.
The country is as well prepared to start the operation of public transport on June 4th 2020 as Government continues to ease the National lockdown that is aimed at stemming the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic in the country.
The President is expected to give Ugandans hopes of Schools reopening especially for the candidates like he earlier stated in the previous address, decide on the fete of public transport means and considering calls of religious leaders on opening places of worship.
President Museveni is also expected to tell Ugandans on the issue of face masks which is mandatory to all Ugandans intending to go to the public as he earlier directed and the far government has gone in fulfilling its promise of giving out free masks to all Ugandans above 6 years of age.
