Rukungiri District confirms 1st Coronavirus case

RUKUNGIRI- The Rukungiri District head of Coronavirus taskforce Dan Kaguta has confirmed that the district has registered the first coronavirus case.

While addressing the media at his office on Monday August 10th 2020, Mr. Kaguta without disclosing the details noted that the case has since been admitted at Mulago National Referral Hospital for further medical management.

“Am now here to confirm that the district has today registered the first coronavirus case. This therefore serves to warn the public who have been so reluctant in enacting the SOPs that it’s high time the enemy is within us” Mr. Kaguta told the press.

Without disclosing the details of the case, Mr. Kaguta noted that they are currently tracing about 200 contacts of the case.

Uganda has todate confirmed 1,283 cases, 1,115 recoveries and 7 coronavirus deaths.
