RUKUNGIRI- Rukungiri town has been decorated with President Yoweri Museveni’s posters ahead of his presidential nominations today.
Rukungiri the home of FDC founder Kiiza Besigye had very few posters for Yoweri Museveni until Monday morning when the whole town was decorated yellow.
Robert Tukamuhebwa the NRM youth coordinator said some youth have volunteered to pin president Museveni’s posters in the town to signalize that they have joined him in His nominations today.
“We used to get a big delegation to stand with our presidential candidate during nominations but due to Covid19 we are unable to be there physically that’s a reason we do our celebrations here,” said Tukamuhabwa.
He added that all NRM supporters were asked to put on yellow today and watch television to celebrate with our candidate during nominations.
He said NRM is gaining a lot of support in Rukungiri than before.”We are trying to bring back NRM glory which got lost about a decade ago and there is a hope that we shall come back to 90% support which NRM used to get here in early 2000,” he said
