KAMPALA- President Museveni has finally come out openly and admitted that he was named Tibuhaburwa at birth and therefore people should start calling him by the said name.
According to the Deed Poll dated October 6th 2020 Museveni admitted that he was adopting the use of Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Kaguta Museveni which are his real names.
In the Deed Poll which this Online Publication has seen a copy, Mr Museveni declared that whereas his academic papers bore the name of Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Museveni, he has over years used names of Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Museveni, Yoweri Museveni, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, and Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Kaguta Museveni interchangeably.
But the Deed Poll makes is categorically clear that according to the registration of persons regulation S.I No 68 of 2015, Mr Museveni said that he was formally and absolutely renouncing the use of all other names and assume and adopt his full names of Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Kaguta Museveni.
“I hereby declare that I shall at all times from now in all records, deeds and instruments in writing and all occasions that require the use of my full name and sign the names of Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Kaguta Museveni instead of other names” The Deed Poll declaration states.
In early 2000, the late Boniface Byanyima who claimed to have hosted President Museveni in 1960s at his home in Mbarara when the young Museveni was still a student hinted that Museveni real name was Tibuhaburwa but he never brought out proof to that effect.
Therefore from the date the Deed Poll was signed which is 6th October 2020, Mr Museveni will henceforth be referred to Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Kaguta Museveni.
